Difference Between Compressor And Blower

Both pressurises the air. But the difference lies in the flow of air and increase in pressure.
Specific ratio is the ratio of outlet pressure to inlet pressure.

 > For Blowers the specific ratio is upto 1.2 only but it can handle a huge volume of air. Where as in the case of compressor the specific ratio is more than 1.2 and flow rate is comparatively lesser than blower

> Blower is an equipment which capable of blowing air/gas. Its generally a scroll fan either forwward curved or backward curved with an enclosure. Even an axial flow fan can be turmed as a blower. Blowers delivers a large volume of gas with lower pressure. Blowers having pressure between 0.7-3bar

>  A compressor is a mechnical device that inceases the pressure of a gas by reducing its volume. Compressors deliver gas with a high pressure to volume ratio. Compressor have pressure above 3 bar.

> An air compressor operates at a high pressure to volume ratio, while an air blower tends tooperate at a low-pressure ratio. A compressor crams air into small space which makes the air denser.
